Pioneers of the British heavy metal scene, Iron Maiden are the most successful band in their genre. Founded in 1975, Iron Maiden are a global phenomenon, having performed in over 60 countries around the world. For their three last tours, the band and crew have been touring in specially branded aircraft. Nicknamed “Ed Force One” after the band’s mascot Eddie, each aircraft sported a design of the album and the corresponding world tour. Pilot was none other than lead singer Bruce Dickinson himself, as he was also a commercial pilot with the charter airline Astraeus, the owner of the Boeing 757 aircraft used on their 2008 and 2011 tours. In support of its then latest album, The Final Frontier, Iron Maiden in 2010 launched their next world tour and thrilled over two million fans in 98 almost always sold-out venues. For this tour which latest through 2011, a second Boeing 757 of Astraeus was refitted for the band and adopted the album artwork of The Final Frontier on its tail. This Die-cast metal model airplane comes in 1/500 scale with landing gear no stand. Model is approximately 3 ¾ inches long with 3 inch wingspan.
