Product Description
Comprising superior quality, solid, substantial injection molded plastic components with a simple snap-fit design that allows for easy assembly without the need for glue, this SkyMarks 1/200 scale KLM Royal Dutch Airlines Boeing 777-300ER, painted in its Orange Pride colors, measures approximately 14-3/8-inches long with a 12-3/4-inch wingspan and comes complete with Landing Gear and a Display Stand. An accurate, true-to-scale reproduction of the actual aircraft, the model is great for collectors and features authentic, highly detailed graphics and markings.

According to KLM, its iconic "Orange Pride" Boeing 777-300ER came to fruition partly in response to a social media post it published on King's Day in 2015, in which it posed the inquiry, "Should we colour orange next year on King's Day? #OrangeExperience". Having garnered an overwhelmingly favorable 30,000 Likes and 2,500 positive responses, KLM rolled out its newly painted Boeing 777-300 - Registration PH-BVA - in its Orange Pride livery in 2016, which tastefully merged traditional KLM blue with the national color of the Netherlands, orange.

Painting the aircraft was no small task, as it took a team of 35 people four days to spray on the orange livery, which was applied in multiple, thin layers. Interestingly, the colors of the Dutch flag were incorporated in the transition between orange and blue

Currently the most "ordered and delivered" widebody airliner flying today, even having overtaken the Queen of the Skies, the iconic Boeing 747, the Boeing 777 is a wide-body, twin-engine, long-range airliner that was conceived by Boeing in 1990 not only to bridge the existing gap between its 767 and 747 aircraft, but also to replace the aging DC-10s and L-1011s that were nearing retirement with a modern, more fuel efficient aircraft.

Able to accommodate up to 396 passengers with ten abreast seating in a conventional 2 class configuration, the Boeing 777-300ER (Extended Range version), which went into service in April 2004 with Air France as its launch customer, not only has additional fuel capacity as well as an increased Maximum Takeoff Weight over the standard Boeing 777-300 - for a range of 7,310 nautical miles - it is also more fuel efficient and has lower operating and maintenance costs than some other rival aircraft in its class produced by both Boeing and Airbus, further bolstering its popularity with airlines seeking new aircraft.
